Boy, I've really let poor Panels slide, too. Many of its major problems are at least mitigated now, particularly in the access control area. And this one will work with update status module.

Great Job
I was just starting to create a bunch of views/panels and I noticed that panels didn't have the same access controls of views. I was going to go a create menu route to lock out people from certain panels, and now you come out with the great patch which solves all the problems.
Thank you so much for these modules, they make rendering specific groups and slices of content easy to do. Great work!

array errors
downloaded panels today (1.1) and am pretty impressed with what it offers. I am, however, having problems with it. I'm getting array errors like this:

When I check the source, I see that the html for the panels themselves is there, but with no content. I tried the following, with all permutations resulting in the above errors:
* using a new custom panel and using one of the supplied layouts
* no fancy blocks - I made 2 blog posts and commented on both of them so the blocks used are either 'Recent Blog Posts' or 'Recent Comments'
* tried without any overridden titles and with 1 or 2 overridden titles
* tried on localhost and a dev site online
* tried with garland and with a custom theme
Considering I tried it with Drupal's default theme and with a supplied panel layout, it should have worked, no? Perhaps I'm missing a detail?
