Another key developer joins the Drupal community

Earlier today I happened to see the CVS application for David Strauss; now, it’s not because I watch the CVS applications list (tho apparently I’m now qualified to approve CVS apps, it’s not on my todo list for time reasons) but because it got forwarded to another list due to a particular module that was interesting. I recognized him immediately from http://thatotherpaper.com, which is a site I was pointed to as an extremely well done newspaper site.

Module status, anyone?

We're almost there with this. Only a few more days, hopefully. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it -- this is the planned destination of a crusade I've been on for several months now.

(I doubt the final product will look like this, but it's certainly a good start)

Views 1.5 released

The Drupal 5 Themer Pack

Edit: The working group is: http://groups.drupal.org/themer-pack-working-group

It includes some minimal instructions (there should be much more after the Dojo session) and a signup wiki page.

Views Bonus Pack reshuffling

I’ve reshuffled the way the views bonus pack stores the bonuses, to make it easier to drop new ones in.

In Drupal 4.7 this means having a little plugin controller. In Drupal 5 I just made them their own modules.

I need some help testing this stuff out. For 4.7 it’s actually released as 1.1 — for 5 I’m not confident enough that it’s stable to roll a release; if you want to grab it it’s currently only in HEAD. I’d love to get some testing (and maybe some help).

Quite a few people have bonus pack commit access. I’m hoping that changing the format a little will encourage people to contribute more bonuses and to expand some of the existing bonuses to include more default views as examples.
